The Department of Education said Monday it was considering allowing students to take onsite examinations as it reopens more schools during the pandemic.
About 6,122 schools have resumed face-to-face classes, with some 800 more schools to reopen under the "progressive expansion" phase of in-person classes, according to DepEd.
"Sa ngayon inayos pa natin 'yung ating guidelines para po d'yan pero bukod po sa mga klase, isa po sa tinitingnan natin na puwedeng gawin ngayon ay ang pagsasagawa ng examination natin," Education ASec. Malcolm Garma told GMA News.
He said among those examinations are large-scale assessment tests like Programme for International Student Assessment.
"Inaayos pa ho natin ang schedule pero meron na hong mga magsisimula ngayong buwan ng Marso at ito po ay by batch o by schedule po gagawin," he said.
Since 2020, the Philippines has been using blended learning with the use of printed modules, online lessons, and radio and television instructions, for the education of students as the COVID-19 pandemic restricted in-person classes.
