Pre-registration for the school year 2021-2022 will run from March 26 to April 30, the Department of Education (DepEd) said.
Those who need to pre-register are incoming kindergarten, grades 1, 7, and 11 learners in public elementary and secondary schools, the DepEd said. Students in other grade levels are already considered pre-registered, it added.
Education Sec. Leonor Briones said pre-registration is needed to allow DepEd to prepare for the upcoming school year.
“All incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 in public elementary and secondary schools shall pre-register to allow the Department to make necessary preparations and incoming plans for the coming school year,” she said.
For areas under general community quarantine or GCQ like Metro Manila, pre-registration will be done remotely, the DepEd said.
For areas under modified general community quarantine or MGCQ, in-person registration will be allowed as long as minimum health standards are observed.
Earlier this month, the DepEd announced adjustments in the academic calendar for SY 2020-2021 for public schools to accommodate learning gaps during the pandemic. The fourth quarter grading period will last until July 10.
