Public School Teachers to Get P1,500 in Incentives Each

For distance learning frontliners.

Frontliners in the new normal of distance learning, public school teachers will each get a P1,500 incentive for World Teachers' Day and an additional P500 for medical expenses, the Department of Education said.

The P1,000 allowance should be given not earlier than World Teachers' Day on Oct. 5, according to a DepEd memo. The P500 is tied to the State of Public Health Emergency, according to a separate issuance.

"(The) financial assistance also forms part of the effort to protect the health, safety, and well-being of the learners and teachers," DepEd said.

Recently, public school teachers were given free access to Canva for Education to aid them in distance learning during the coronavirus pandemic.
