DPWH Secretary, Isolation Czar Mark Villar Tests Positive for COVID-19

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar tested positive for COVID-19.

Villar announced this on his Facebook page on July 15.

Villar was recently named chief isolation czar, a new role that gives him the responsibility of overseeing the country’s quarantine facilities and isolation centers.

Villar is one of several government officials who tested positive for the virus.

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senators Aquilino Pimentel III and Sonny Agnara, Education Secretary Leonor Briones, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, and Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief General Felimon Santos Jr. tested positive for COVID-19 and eventually recovered.
