President Rodrigo Duterte said Monday military reservists could be called for a "mobilization" as the government continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. He said his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, would be among those drafted.

Duterte reimposed the second highest virus quarantine, MECQ, in Metro Manila, Laguna, Rizal, Cavite and Bulacan for 15 days or until Aug. 18, heeding the call of frontliners for a rethink of the government's pandemic response as infections continue to climb.

"Kayo sa gobyerno, reservists, we might call for a mobilization. My daughter Inday Sara, pag ako nag-mobilize mauna yan. I will specifically point to her as one of those who will answer," Duterte said.

Duterte-Carpio, who took over from her father as Davao City mayor, is an Army reservist.
