President Rodrigo Duterte will address the nation on the effects on Super Typhoon Rolly, his spokesman said Sunday as #NasaanAngPangulo trended on Twitter as the monster storm struck.
Duterte is monitoring the situation from Davao City and could not join meetings in Manila because of the weather. He will address the nation "today or tomorrow," said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Before noon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council convened to discuss the effects of Rolly, the world's strongest storm so far this year with peak maximum sustained winds of 225 kph.
Vice President Leni Robredo said she was in contact with Bicol officials on the effects of the storm. Robredo is from Naga City, which is on the storm's path.
