U-turn slots along EDSA will be closed gradually and will be completed by December to give way to the bus carousel project, Metro Manila's traffic authority said Monday.

The closure of the U-turn slots will aid point-to-point buses travelling North Avenue to Pasay City, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority General Manager Jojo Garcia

Dedicated bus lanes along the highway were transferred to the innermost lanes during the COVID-19 quarantines to help ferry more passengers. As of Monday, the North Avenue U-turn slot by TriNoMa has been closed. No other U-turn slots have been closed yet.

By the end of the year po ito matatapos kasi hindi pa po dumarating lahat ng barriers. Kaya unti-unti po ang pagsasara nito (This will be completed by the end of the year because not all the barriers have arrived yet. That's why its closure is being done gradually.),” Garcia told Dobol B sa News TV.

Heavy traffic has been reported following the closure of the U-turn slot in North Avenue. Garcia told the public to wait 2 to 3 days before the situation normalizesAlternate routes were provided to help motorists get to where they need to be despite the closures.
