Elon Musk's satellite internet service Starlink has been registered in the Philippines, bringing it one step closer to serving millions in one of the world's social media capitals, according to separate announcements from the tech billionaire and Filipino regulators.
Starlink harnesses the power of Musk's constellation of low-orbit satellites to bring internet connectivity to even the most remote of locations. It promises low latency, meaning video streams and calls will have little no lag.
"Great potential to lift people out of poverty. Providing Internet is teaching people to fish," Musk tweeted.

Musk said Starlink had also been approved in Nigeria and Mozambique.
One Starlink unit can provide internet to "hundreds" of students, he said.
