Ely Buendia endorsed Leni Robredo for president at a campaign rally Friday with a set of Eraserheads hits like "Alapaap" and "Ligaya", sending the crowd clad in pink dancing to 90s rock nostalgia.

Before the campaign, Buendia went viral for tweeting about a reunion of the Eraserheads, one of the bands that defined Pinoy rock, if Robredo would run for president. The IloIlo stop was the closest he got to fulfilling it.

Wearing a pink button-down shirt, Buendia reworked the lyrics to "Pare Ko", singing, "Basta't iboto ninyo si Leni at si Kiko, nandito ka ay ayos na." He also sang "Ligaya".

The hashtags #ILOILOisPink and #HalaBiraLeniKiko topped Twitter trends with more than 90,000 combined tweets as of 8:50 p.m. "Ely Buendia" was also trending at that time with 3,000 tweets during his performance.

Celebrities Edu Manzano, Cherry Pie Picache, Lara Quigaman-Alcaraz, Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio, Ogie Diaz, and Gab Panganiban co-hosted the event.
