Public Works Sec. Mark Villar on said Thursday the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge which aims to cut travel time between Mandaluyong and Makati will be completed by June.
The four-lane bridge runs for 506.46 lineal meters to connect Estrella Street in Makati City and Barangka Drive on the Mandaluyong side and will have dedicated lanes for pedestrians. It is currently 81.66% complete.
"It's projected also to significantly decongest EDSA," Villar told journalists in a Summit Sandwich Session.
The P1.46 billion project backed by a China grant is expected to divert 9,438 vehicles from EDSA.

Prior to construction, a makeshift bridge with two lanes temporarily connected the two cities. "Those kinds of bridges aren't really meant to be permanent structure," he said.
"It's seismic graded," he explained, highlighting the bridge's resilience and capacity to withstand tremors.
