(SPOT.ph) El Nido is a well-known beach destination located in one of the world's most beautiful islands-Palawan. It boasts amazing lagoons, rich marine life, and awe-inspiring limestone formations. So you can imagine the happy dancing that probably happened when the tourist destination reopened to visitors from Metro Manila on Nov. 30, 2020. Here's an updated list of travel requirements for Manila residents going to El Nido, Palawan:
What to Bring
- QR-coded tourist ID from El Nido Tourism's website
- Health declaration form, negative RT-PCR swab test result within 48 hours, confirmed travel itinerary and accommodation reservation are required for uploading when you secure your QR-coded tourist ID (QT-ID).
- Save a physical or electronic copy of your QT-ID and take it with you at all times.
What to Expect
- Leisure travel to El Nido is open to all ages without underlying conditions and health risks.
- Upon arrival, tourists are required to undergo health checks and documents verification at the Tourist One-Stop Site at Lio Airport.
- Guests are required to electronically check in and check out from their accommodations using the QT-ID.
- You may only leave your resort's premises for guided island tours.
How to Get There
- Domestic tourists to El Nido coming from outside Palawan are only allowed to enter via Lio Airport, where AirSwift operates.
- Puerto Princesa City and San Vicente are not yet allowing tourists to fly in.
- Palaweños can drive to El Nido as long as health protocols are observed.
What to Do
- Make sure to book your tours with one of the travel agencies and tour operators with Department of Tourism's accreditation and the local government's Local Seal of Compliance.
- Island-hopping and scuba diving are allowed, but trips to mainland beaches are not yet an option.
Where to Stay
Only hotels and resorts accredited by the Department of Tourism and given the Certificate of Authority to Operate are allowed to reopen.

It started holding the three-night travel bubble as early as July with succeeding trips immediately selling out within days of announcement. El Nido Resorts' Pangalusian Island and Lagen Island are also open for travel bubbles.
