Former President Joseph Estrada was hospitalized and diagnosed with COVID-19, according to his eldest son, former Senator Jinggoy Estrada.

Estrada, who is turning 84 on April 19, is weak but in stable condition, the young Estrada said on Facebook.

The Estrada family is appealing for prayers, said the former senator.

The former president has kept a low profile since losing his reelection bid for Manila mayor to Isko Moreno, his former vice mayor.
