Former Vice President Jejomar Binay is joining the senatorial lineup of the Lacson-Sotto tandem in the 2022 elections, according to Senate President Vicente Sotto III.

Should the former vice president get elected to the Senate, he will join eldest daughter Sen. Nancy Binay in the chamber. It will also be the second time in recent years that a parent and child would serve at the same time in the Senate, after former senators Loi Ejercito and Jingoy Estrada.

"Yes na yes!" Sotto told reporters when asked to confirm Binay's inclusion in their ticket. The Senate leader is running for vice president with Lacson making his second run for the presidency.

Also present in the meeting was former Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, chairman of the Reporma party, which Sotto earlier said they were planning to coalesce with.

Binay, who served as vice president from 2010 to 2016, has yet to formally announce his intention to run for senator in the 2022 elections.
