Looks like you'll have to find other ways to add flavor to your menudo and caldereta as a popular brand of liver spread, along with other food items and supplements, lacks the seal of approval from the Food and Drug Administration.

In an advisory released Wednesday, the FDA urged the public to not purchase or consume Reno Liver Spread, Miracle White Advance Whitening Capsules Food Supplement, Turcumin 100% Natural and Standardized Turmeric Cucumin, DESA Spanish Style Bangus in Corn Oil, and Samantha's Dips and Sauce Spanish Sardines Paste Sauce.

"Since these unregistered food products and food supplements have not gone through evaluation process of the FDA, the agency cannot assure its quality and safety," the advisory said.

All stores and establishments selling the aforementioned products are ordered to halt distribution immediately, the FDA said.

Local government units are requested to ensure that these products are not sold in their areas of jurisdiction. If you spot any of these products on shelves, you can report it to the FDA website.
