FDA Warns Against Use of Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Tint

Due to 'microbial contaminants.'

The Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday issued a public health warning against a product from Ever Bilena. The Filipino cosmetics company said its products comply with regulator standards and would look into the matter.

The FDA said Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Stain Night Berry was found to contain microbial contaminants.

"The use of adulterated cosmetic products may result in adverse reactions including but not limited to skin irritation, itchiness, anaphylactic shock and organ failure," the FDA said in its advisory.

Ever Bilena however assured the public that all of its products go through quality control before being sold in the market, and that it is FDA-compliant.

"We would like to inform everyone that all of our products go through quality control before they are go signaled for distribution to the market. Each Ever Bilena product is subjected to microbial testing prior to release to trade," the company said in a statement.

"Everything released from warehouse are FDA compliant," it added.

It said it would check the items flagged by the FDA and would update the public on the matter in about a week.
