The Far Eastern University Central Student Organization on Saturday asked school authorities to stand take a stand in the May 9 elections after some of its varsity volleyball players endorsed Bongbong Marcos for president.
The group, which earlier endorsed Leni Robredo for president, said that FEU had always pushed back against "grave injustices and abuse of power" from World War II to extrajudicial killings and Martial Law, one of the legacies of Marcos' late dictator father, Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
"The Tamaraw core values of Fortitude, Excellence and Uprightness call for us to stand and fight for the truth -- being traditionally apolitical is not part of them," the group said in a statement titled "Education has always been political".
"May we always be brave to battle for the right. Ipanalo natin ito para sa lahat," it said.
