Foodpanda riders have filed a complaint before the Department of Labor over a new payment structure which they said diminished their pay.
The food delivery platform said the new payment stucture was communicated to the riders before it was implemented, describing it as "more organized and fair" since it is distance-based.

"Saan kayo nakakita na imbes na taasan kayo dahil wala na nga kayong hazard pay, wala na nga kayong maintenance fee, wala na nga kayong gasoline allowance, wala na rin kayong benepisyo, ano ang sagot sa inyo ng kompanya? Bahala kayo sa buhay niyo," said Romeo Maglunsod, a spokesman for the KAGULONG group that represents the riders.
The group is asking for reforms in the payment system. They also cited difficulties in securing customers through app bookings.
