Frontliners in the COVID-19 pandemic will be prioritized in registration centers for the 2022 national elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said, as it urged Filipinos to register to vote.

Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said in a tweet that all field offices of the poll body were directed to prioritize frontliners-- which includes health workers and uniformed personnel.

"Frontliners will be given priority at Comelec registration centers," the poll body's spokesperson, James Jimenez, said.

A Jan. 27 Comelec memorandum shared by Guanzon instructed all offices of the Election Officer in the National Capital Region to assign priority lanes for frontliners.
