Sen. Richard Gordon on Tuesday called out "trolls" and told them to find other sources of income as the Senate blue ribbon panel continued investigating alleged  corruption in the supply of COVID-19 equipment to the government.

The senator had long been on the receiving end of online attacks for leading the inquiry. Also on Tuesday, the Blue Ribbon panel recommended graft charges against Pharmally Corp, President Rodrigo Duterte's former economic adviser, Michael Yang, and other state officials.

"Shoutout na rin po sa mga trolls na nanonood at nagre-review ng mga script nila. Alam po naming hanapbuhay niyo yan at ginagawa niyo po yan para kumita para sa inyong mga mahal sa buhay, pero sana po ay magbagong buhay na po kayo," Gordon said.

"Marami pong trabahong marangal. Hinihikayat po natin ang lahat, upang malaman ang katotohanan at mapanagot ang mga may kasalanan, at maibalik ang perang nawaldas at ninakaw ng mga mandarambong," he added.

As the hearing continued, Gordon's office reported that his official website was again shut due to a distributed denial of service or DDoS attack. Myke Cruz, information technology officer at Gordon's office, reported that dickgordon.ph had been offline since 8 a.m.

A DDoS attack is an attempt to shut down an online service or website by overwhelming it with internet traffic from multiple sources. The website is now up and running as of late Tuesday.

It's the second time in less than a month that Gordon's website went down due to a cyber attack. Cruz earlier said the website outage was a serious concern given the Blue Ribbon hearings.

Gordon earlier warned the public to be more vigilant against false information being propagated by pro-administration social media pages aiming to discredit him and his fellow senators as they investigate the anomalous COVID-19 supply deals of the government.

The senator himself became a subject of President Rodrigo Duterte tirades, accusing the lawmaker of sinophobia and criticizing him for his weight.
