Grab Philippines has a new Philippines head effective Oct. 15, Grace Vera Cruz, who will replace Brian Cu, the Souhteast Asian super app said Thursday. Vera Cruz will look for synergies in Grab's businesses -- transport, food and deliveries.
Vera Cruz worked for 15 years in different companies, most recently as managing director of investment firm Seawood Resources. She also held key positions in McKinsey & Co., CLSA Exchange Capital and Shell, Grab said.
Grab is a staple app for Filipinos during the quarantine, who are required to stay mostly at home to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. Grab's delivery business has skyrocketed during the quarantine that entered its seventh month.

"I look forward to working with the team to leverage Grab’s technology and innovation to help Filipino communities safely and sustainably recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic," she said in a statement.
