Want to Work in a Hotel or Resort? Check out the DOT's Job Fair

As the country's borders reopen for tourism.

Over 7,500 jobs in the tourism and hospitality industry are up for grabs as the Department of Tourism hosts the Philippine Tourism Job Fair in Manila, Cebu, and Davao from Sept. 22 to 24.

More than 130 tourism establishments including hotels, travel and tour companies, tourist transport operators, and health and wellness providers will participate in the job fair as the country's borders reopen after two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Manila leg of the job fair will be held from Sept. 22 to 24 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, while the Cebu leg will take place from Sept. 22 to 23 at SM City Cebu, and the Davao leg will run from Sept. 22 to 23 at Abreeza Mall.

What types of jobs will be offered?

According to the DOT, job vacancies that will be offered in the Philippine Tourism Job Fair include those related to the following:

  • Administration
  • Accounting
  • Marketing
  • Human resource
  • Front office
  • Support staff
  • MICE operation
  • Food and beverage
  • Kitchen and food production
  • Housekeeping

A total of 3,367 jobs in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa will be offered during the Manila leg, while a total of 1,633 and 2,510 jobs in Visayas and Mindanao, respectively, will open in the Cebu and Davao leg, the DOT said.

Which establishments are participating?

Over 130 tourism establishments offering jobs in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be open to interested applicants, the DOT said. Here's a list of some of them:

How to join the job fair?

Interested applicants are encouraged to register first through these websites before going to the job fair.

For the Manila leg, register through this link. Those going to the Cebu leg can register here, while interested applicants in the Davao leg can register here.

Applicants may also opt to walk-in during the job fair, the DOT said.

What should you bring?

Interested applicants may consider the following items during the job fair in case a hiring manager or prospective employee requests them:

  • Resume
  • Transcript of records
  • Certificate of employment
  • Certificate of training
  • Professional portfolio

Applicants are also encouraged to bring their vaccination card and extra paper and pens during the job fair.
