(UPDATED) The fire at the Philippine General Hospital on Sunday morning prompted the evacuation of many patients, whether fighting COVID-19 or other illnesses.
Several organizations have launched donation drives for assistance in cash and in kind to help affected patients recover.

In a tweet, the University of the Philippines Manila, which houses PGH, told the public to be wary of scammers with a reminder on the official accounts of PGH and the PGH Medical Foundation Inc.
Dr. Geraldine Zamora, who teaches medicine at UP Manila, also cautioned the public about altered account numbers of the official donation drive of PGH.

The PGH said it would temporarily suspend admission of patients as a result of the fire incident.
