It definitely took a while, but tourism is finally starting to pick up the pace again. Accordingly, in a joint effort to help boost tourism in the Philippines, the Tourism Promotions Board and the Department of Tourism launched a campaign called “It’s More Fun With You”, wherein they seek to encourage travelers to pick up their Philippine itineraries again and explore as safely as possible.
Foremost, the campaign makes it extra easy for people to jump into domestic traveling with the existence of the Travel Philippines app, which, although launched back in 2020, remains ever-relevant today.
Developed by the Tourism Promotions Board, the marketing and promotions arm of the DOT, the Travel Philippines app covers all the vital information one needs to get a headstart on their domestic trip, at the top of the list being the different local destinations open to tourists at the moment.
All the featured destinations in the Travel Philippines app
The places featured in the app are those that have reopened their doors to usher in tourism again. And this feature makes it easy for people to pinpoint where they can travel at the moment.
The better side of it is how each feature provides details that are helpful in putting together one’s travel plans—such as tips on what to do, which places to visit, where to stay, and where to eat. It also includes the up-to-date safety guidelines that will very much help in exploring the place.
You can make an itinerary using the app, too. Under the My Trip tab, you can create a travel plan and save the fitting resources you can find in the app. Save them offline for safety, in case you encounter a low signal during your trip.
The latest travel advisories in the country
The Travel Philippines app is also handy in allowing you to arm yourself with updates on travel guidelines and safety protocols.
For starters, you can find general Philippine travel advisories that are applicable to both domestic and foreign travelers. You can also sift through the safety guidelines on accommodations, tourist spots and activities, restaurants, and events and conferences.
All of these being in a single app makes for more seamless planning on your end.
The latest local travel news
On top of the travel advisories and tourist recommendations, the app is also home to real-time news on local tourism. So even when you’re not using the app to plan a trip, you can always check it from time to time to see what’s happening in the country, travel-wise.
Check out the Travel Philippines app yourself and start materializing that overdue trip around the country!
You can download the Travel Philippines app via the App Store or Google Play Store.
