It's still too early to decide on political moves for the 2022 elections, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said as calls for her to run for president persist.

The eldest daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte said Tuesday that decisions could be made until Oct. 8 -- the deadline for the filing of candidacy for national positions.

"Maaga pa naman. Hindi natin alam kung ano ang mangyayari tomorrow. We still have until Oct. 8, 'yung deadline ng filing ng candidacy," she said in an interview with GMA News.

Duterte-Carpio is among the top choices for president in pre-election surveys so far even though her father has repeatedly said that he was against his daughter running to succeed him.

Malacañang however said Duterte-Carpio is among the President's "options" to succeed him along with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, former Sen. Bongbong Marcos, and Sen. Bong Go.
