Vice President Leni Robredo's supporters are urging her to take the plunge and run for president, sending #LabanLeni2022 trending on Twitter Philippines on Thursday.

As of 12 p.m., the hashtag has been tweeted over 37,000, with people explaining why Robredo should seek the highest government post. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, who was in unity talks with the Vice President, declared his intention to run for president last Wednesday.

Robredo remains undecided, telling her radio program last Sunday: "Marami tayong mga realities na kailangan nating harapin.

Former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV said Robredo should decide now that her "unity talks" with other presidential aspirants failed. Aside from Moreno, Sen. Manny Pacquiao also declared his candidacy for president.

"Simula't sapul, talagang desidido naman silang tumakbong pagka-presidente. Bukod pa rito, hindi naman sila tunay na oposisyon kahit papaano pa natin baliktarin ito," Trillanes, leader of the Magdalo party-list, said in a statement on Thursday.

"Kung kaya't nananawagan na ang grupong Magdalo para sa agarang pagdedesisyon ni VP Leni ukol sa darating na 2022 elections," he said.

The opposition believes Robredo can win despite performing poorly in some opinion polls.
