Lacson in Talks with Raffy Tulfo to Join His Senate Slate

But issues must be resolved first.

Presidential aspirant Sen. Panfilo Lacson said Tuesday he was in talks with broadcaster Raffy Tulfo to join his senatorial slate in the 2022 elections.

"We're talking to Raffy Tulfo," Lacson told ANC when asked about the senatorial candidates. that he and his vice presidential running mate Senate President Vicente Sotto III would endorse.

"We talked already but may mga nire-resolve pang ibang mga minor issues, mga concerns niya," he added.

Apart from the Lacson-Sotto ticket, Tulfo's name also surfaced as among the possible senatorial bets of the PDP-Laban faction supporting the vice presidential bid of President Rodrigo Duterte.

A June 2021 Pulse Asia survey tipped the broadcaster among the 13 probable senatorial candidates who have a statistical chance of winning the elections if it were conducted during the survey period.

Tulfo became a household name for hosting the popular TV show "Raffy Tulfo in Action," through which viewers seek instant justice for their legal woes.

Aside from Tulfo, Lacson also said former Agriculture Sec. Manny Piñol also indicated his intention to run for the Senate under their slate.

The tandem earlier revealed their possible senatorial candidates for the 2022 elections, which include former Sen. JV Ejercito, Sorsogon Gov. Francis Escudero, DICT Sec. Gringo Honasan, and Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda.
