Outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo will speak before the graduating class of the Ateneo De Manila University's Loyola Schools during their commencement exercises this year, its administration said on Thursday.

The graduation, which will take place on Aug. 27, will carry the theme "Hinubog ng Mapanghamong Panahon, Magmahal at Magtaya nang May Tapang at Pag-asa", Vice President for the Loyola Schools Maria Luz Vilches said in a memo.

"We hope that our students will be inspired by Vice President Robredo’s example of courage, hope, and love for the nation," she added.

Ateneo will be holding its graduation events onsite this year, the first since the pandemic halted all mass gatherings, including commencement exercises, two years ago.

The university also hosted Robredo's thanksgiving event last May 13 after she lost the presidential race to Bongbong Marcos.

Robredo will officially end her term as vice president on June 30 and will be succeeded by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
