(UPDATE) Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday named allies, incumbents and returning lawmakers to her Senate ticket for the 2022 elections whom she said were ready to listen to divergent views.

Robredo said neither she nor her candidates are perfect, but all of them are committed to serve.

The slate reflects the broadness of the coalition supporting Robredo's bid for the presidency, said her running mate, Sen. Francis Pangilinan.

"Naniniwala ako na wala naman perpekto sa amin kahit ako, pero 'yung pinakamahalaga 'yung commitment saka 'yung readiness na umupo sa lamesa at pakinggan 'yung iba-ibang paniniwala ng mga kasama," said Robredo.

The list of candidates include incumbents Risa Hontiveros and Leila de Lima, former Sen. Antonio Trillanes, former Ifugao Rep Teddy Baguilat, human rights lawyer Chel Diokno and lawyer Alex Lacson.

Robredo also said the following would run as her "guest candidates": Senators Richard Gordon, Juan Miguel Zubiri and Joel Villanueva, Sorsogon Gov. Francis Escudero and former  Vice President Jejomar Binay.

The tandem has yet to decide who will be the 12th candidate. They said they were looking at four or five people, including Bayan Muna's Neri Colmenares and labor leader Sonny Matula, to complete their slate, said Robredo.

Robredo said final candidate should represent marginalized sectors.

Sen. Franklin Drilon, who helped complete the Robredo-Pangilinan Senate slate, said that the five guest candidates, some of which are also guest candidates in other tickets, were requested not to campaign for any presidential or vice presidential bets.

"Oo, meron kaming mga diperensya, meron kaming mga nakaraang pakikipagtunggali. Pero sabi ko nga unless matuto tayo, democracy sabi nga nila is learning to work with people you dislike up to a certain extent," Pangilinan said.

"Si Vice President Leni Robredo ang unifying factor and we're able to attact and get the commitments of all these 11 because of the track record that Vice President Leni has shown and the program of governement that she has presented," Drilon said.
