Vice President Leni Robredo has dropped the first batch of videos about distance learning on YouTube.
The instructional series, called Bayanihan e-Skwela, aims to assist teachers and parents in the shift to the alternative form of education, with COVID-19 preventing students from being physical present at school.
“These are instructional videos to really help teachers and parents to prepare themselves in the blended learning offered by the Department of Education,” Robredo said on her radio show recently.
According to the YouTube channel's description, Bayanihan e-Skwela features academic experts and their insights on the changes in the education system under the new normal. It also offers approaches, techniques, and other tips on how to teach and assist learners of different grade levels.
Faculty members from the University of the Philippines’ College of Education, College of Music and Integrated School, students from the UP Special Education Area, and teachers from Culiat Elementary School in Quezon City reportedly volunteered for the initiative.
Episodes include "Project-based Learning at Home," "How to make video lessons," and the first one, "Additional Support for Elementary Readers," starring actress Janine Gutierrez.
