Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday called on voters to consider the 2022 elections as a "reset button" for political dynasties after three former presidents backed her chief rival Bongbong Marcos' bid for Malacanang.

Robredo, who beat the only son and namesake of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos in the 2016 vice presidential race, said she dreams of electing ordinary people in public office instead of the same names ruling the country.

"Palagay ko 'yung 2022 napakahalagang eleksyon lalo na kasi nagsanib-puwersa na ang malalaking pulitiko at pamilya. Pagkakataon ito for us, parang reset button na 'pag tinalo natin sila, umpisahan na natin 'yung isang klaseng pulitika na lahat may pagkakataon," said Robredo during an assembly with workers.

"Siguro 'di natin 'yun kaya in six years, pero ang aking pangarap na 'yung pulitika nating mag-a-allow sa ordinaryong tao na mahahalal into public office kasi 'yung pulitika natin, parang naging exclusive siya sa may pera, may pangalan."

Robredo said leader Sonny Matula's inclusion in her senatorial slate was symbolic of her commitment to involve common folk in government.

"Sana po hindi kayo mawalan ng pag-asa kasi this is one chance na mabago natin, not immediately pero para naman marating natin ang pangarap natin, bawat hakbang ay mahalaga," she told her supporters.

She also called for unity among her supporters, urging them to be more tolerant and understanding when dealing with others.

"Kung gusto po nating baguhin 'yung maraming bagay, 'di natin 'yan mababago 'pag nagkakawatak-watak tayo so kung meron po tayong puwede nang gawin ngayon kahit hindi pa tayo nananalo, gawin na natin ngayon para 'pag nanalo na tayo, day 1 pa lang trabaho na agad."
