Vice President Leni Robredo took a break from preparing for her presidential run, appearing on vloger Mimiyuuuh's YouTube to channel to share tips on how to cook essential lugaw and some life skills for Gen Z to power through the pandemic.
The 56-year-old Robredo said she and her three daughters are fans of the Mimiyuuuh, who is proud of her humble roots and provides for her family despite being an endorser for giant brands and amassing 4.2 million YouTube subscribers.
Told by Mimiyuuuh that she was feeling the onset of a quarter-life crisis turning 25 this November, Robredo said such feelings are "normal". What's important is for the 25-year-old to find the strength from within themselves. "Hindi manggagaling sa labas yung solusyon, manggagaling sa sarili nila."
When is it okay to not be okay? Mimiyuuuh threw Boy Abunda's viral Binibining Pilipinas question, to which Robredo replied: "Ang buhay natin, parang rollercoaster. May good days, may bad days. Laging assurance, pag may bad days, hindi habambuhay ganun."
How do you find a jowa or partner during the pandemic? "Don't seek it." Robredo told Mimiyuuuh. "Pag sine-seek mo yun, hindi nagla-last. Yung para sa 'yo, dadating sa yo." She also told Mimiyuuuh that you don't need to be a mother to be a parent to someone.

How do you control credit card use? Don't use it to shop. Robredo said she only uses plastic to pay for her bills. That way, she has a clear idea of cash on hand. She said she seldom shops and her clothes last for 10 years.
How do you deal with fake news? Robredo said she used to ignore propaganda online, untils he realized that lies left uncontested are seen as truths. "Hindi mo siya papatulan pero at least, magbigay ka ng opposition para malaman na hindi totoo."
What is happines? It's relative, Robredo said, adding, it's "how do you make a bad siotuation good".
Finally, what the secret to essential lugaw? Sautee the onions before adding the garlic to avoid it getting burnt. Brown the chicken pieces in the sautee pan for more depth in flavor. Use both regular and sticky rice for a thick porridge. Adjust to your taste with patis and calamansi.
Robredo's critics have used "Leni Lugaw" as a pejorative which she embraced as a hat tip to her grassroots background.
