Robredo Ready For Unannounced Drug Test After Marcos Tests Negative

Doing so at her own convenience is 'self-serving'.

Vice President Leni Robredo said Wednesday she was ready to undergo a random and unannounced drug test after her chief rival in the 2022 presidential elections released the negative results of his own screening.

Robredo said it would be "self-serving" to get tested on her own, which is what ex-senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. did.

Marcos' office released his test results that cleared him of cocaine and narcotics use after President Rodrigo Duterte claimed that one of those running to succeed him, whom he did not name, had a history of cocaine use.

"Ako, anytime naman pero sa akin... dapat sana iyong pagpapa-drug test random, unannounced kasi alam naman natin na mas maigi na random, mas maigi na unannounced para nakukuha mo kung ano talaga iyong tunay na sitwasyon," Robredo said.

Robredo said she was willing to get tested at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, likw what running mates Panfilo Lacson and Vicente Sotto III did or at a private clinic like Marcos.

"Kahit saan naman na titiwalaan ng publiko, okay naman iyon. Kasi it doesn’t matter naman kung public or private basta may tiwala tayo doon sa legitimacy at saka sa accuracy ng test."

Robredo also earlier urged the government to file charges against the candidate allegedly involved in drugs.
