LOOK: Duterte Rides Bike to Send a Message to Commuters

President Rodrigo Duterte indulged in one of his hobbies late Wednesday, bike riding. Though based on photos by Sen. Bong Go, his longtime close aide, the Chief Executive did not leave Malacanang Palace grounds.

Duterte on a bike sends a message to bikers to keep safe by staying on their designated lanes, Go said. Since the COVID-19 quarantine started in March, biking has become a mobility option due to limited public transportation.

Duterte was known to bike in Davao City when he was mayor, patroling the streets at night with his identity concealed in a helmet. He also once suffered from a bike injury.

Also on Wednesday, Duterte met with Senate President Tito Sotto, Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano and House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez.
