The opening of LRT-2 Extension's Marikina and Antipolo stations was postponed again to give way to finishing works on the train line's signaling system, Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade said on Monday.
"'Pag hindi naayos 'yan, magbabanga-bangga ang tren diyan," Tugade told reporters during the Summit Sandwich Session.
The two stations will open on July 6 instead of Wednesday, Tugade said. The original opening date was in April, which was pushed back due to strict quarantines in the capital.
Once fully operational, the additional stations will increase the railway line's capacity by 80,000 passengers daily and cut travel time between Antipolo and Manila to 40 minutes from three hours.
