LRT-2 to Limit Weekend Operations Ahead of Extension Opening

The LRT Line 2 said it would suspend operations in three stations for two weekends starting May 22, in preparation for the opening of its extension line in late June.

LRT-2 Antipolo, Marikina Stations to Open on June 22

Operations in the Anonas, Katipunan, and Santolan stations will be suspended on May 22 to 23 and May 29 to 30, 2021. On these dates, its trains will run from Araneta Center Cubao to Recto stations and vice versa, the LRT-2 said.

This is meant to give way to signaling system tests of the Marikina and Antipolo stations with the existing Line 2 system from Santolan to Recto, management said.

The trains will remain operational from 5 a.m., with its last trip at 8:30 p.m. westbound (Cubao to Recto) and 9 p.m. eastbound (Recto to Cubao).
