It's fairly safe to say that most people skipped haircuts during the lockdowns, opting instead to grow out their locks to record lengths.

To find a purpose for those locks that have grown too long, the Makati Medical Center is calling for hair donations for the benefit of cancer patients.

"Give your locks a purpose! Make a cancer patient smile by donating your hair at MakatiMed Cancer Center," the hospital said in a Facebook post.

The donated hair must be a minimum of nine inches long and should not have been chemically treated.

The dry, ponytailed hair should be placed in a ziplock or resealable plastic bag and labeled with the donor's name, contact number and address, the hospital said.
