Malls Allowed to Open Until 11 p.m. Starting Nov. 15, Says MMDA

Malls will be allowed to operate close to midnight on weekdays to help ease traffic congestion ahead of the Christmas rush, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.

The new operating hours of malls from Monday to Friday will be from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Malls currently start their operation on weekdays at 10 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.

Mall sales are allowed only on weekdays and holidays, the MMDA said.

Curfew hours in Metro Manila was also recently lifted as the capital region transitioned to Alert Level 2, which allows businesses and establishments to operate at bigger capacities.

Under Alert Level 2, those under 18 years old are allowed in establishments that can operate at a maximum 50% capacity indoors and 70% capacity outdoors.
