In Manila, Shuttered Campuses Become Quarantine Centers

Facility no. 13, with no. 14 on the way.

The City of Manila on Friday is turning to shuttered campuses to build its quarantine facilities, opening the 13th at the Manuel L. Quezon University in Quiapo and with plans to build a 14th one at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

A 15-day Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine is in effect in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal, during which authorities are ramping up testing, tracing, isolation and treatment. The MECQ bars face-to-face classes.
