Mayor Isko Moreno said he opened Manila's COVID-19 drive-thru rapid testing to help people deal with the anxiety over the infection status. The service is free for everyone with a government ID, even if you're a Makatizen or a Mandaleno.
Manila's testing center is located at the Andres Bonifacio Monument, in front of City Hall and comes after several major hospitals in Metro Manila offered similar drive-tru testing, for both the rapid and conclusive kinds.
From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., residents and non-residents can drop by to have their blood samples taken by the Manila Health Department. These will be brought to the Ospital ng Maynila to be tested using Abbott's Architect i1000SR — all for free.
"Isa sa mga naisip namin ay sawatahin ang pangamba, bigyan kayo ng kapanatagan, magkaroon kayo ng peace of mind," Moreno said in a Facebook video.
"We will utilize the recently-purchased machines. These have accuracy of 99.6% for specificity and 100% for sensitivity. This is part of our continuing massive testing, including every driving Manileño who will pass by Lawton."
