Manila in a Minute: MECQ is Extended, What Changed?

The MECQ in the NCR Plus Bubble is extended until May 14. Confused? Set aside the acronyms, we sifted the most useful things you need to know to move around Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, Rizal and Bulacan.

The biggest changes include a shorter curfew in Metro Manila, now from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.  Indoor dining is now allowed, at 10% of restaurant capacity. During the earlier half of the MECQ, only outdoor dining, takeout and delivery was allowed.

Also allowed to open at 30% capacity are barbershops, salons and nail spas. If you're aching for some grooming, time to book that appointment.

The IATF is also rolling out the StaySafe seal that will tell consumers which shops are fully compliant with COVID protocols, including the StaySafe contact-tracing platform.
