Manila Opens COVID-19 Vaccine Registration to 12 to 17 Year-Olds

Minors can save a spot in the line.

Minors aged 12 to 17 years old residing in Manila can register for the COVID-19 jab, Mayor Isko Moreno said Friday as the national government eyes the expansion of the immunization program to minors.

The Food and Drug Administration last week cleared Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use on minors aged 12 to 17 as more young people get infected with coronavirus.

Moreno said the registration would proceed even if it was still unclear when the national government would allow the administration of vaccines for this certain age group.

Sign-ups will save a slot for minors once authorities clear the vaccine for administration to the age group. Those interested may sign-up online, which allows applicants born as late as 2009 to submit a form.
