The Philippine capital said Tuesday it was investigating an alleged COVID-19 vaccination drive in Binondo even as the country has yet to authorize any immunization activity against the virus.
Manila City Mayor Isko Moreo ordered police officers to investigate the alleged "unauthorized COVID-19 vaccination activities" in Binondo, the city's public information office said.

The Philippines has yet to secure supplies of COVID-19 vaccines although talks are already underway for procurement of the sought-after drugs.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte granted the local Food and Drug Administration authority to declare emergency use authorization for COVID-19 vaccines.
