Real estate mogul and former politician Manny Villar is the country's richest and is the sole Filipino to be included in the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Villar, a former senator and 2010 presidential candidate, has a total net worth of $6.76 billion and ranked 382nd in the list of the 500 richest people in the world, which was topped by Tesla founder Elon Musk.
How much can Villar's net worth buy? Bloomberg said the 71-year-old self-made tycoon can afford 3.72 million troy ounces of gold and 122 million barrels of crude oil.

The husband of Sen. Cynthia Villar and father of Public Works Sec. Mark Villar, has a vast business empire that includes home builder Vista Land & Lifescapes, shopping mall operator Vistamalls, and property and deathcare company Golden Bria Holdings.
Villar is also a regular in the Forbes list of richest Filipinos. In recent years, his family has also dipped their toes in the telecommunications and water industry.
