McDonald's said it would launch a BTS Meal. What's in it? The American fastfood giant didn't day. Twitter, however, thinks this got Jollibee said.
The arch-rivals for fastfood dominance in the Philippines were both trending late Monday within an hour of McDonald's post. Jollibee, of course, holds the distinction of being the only quick service chain to beat Ronald McDonald and company, at least on home turf.
Cue the memes of Jollibee mascots slouched and looking glum or inflatable Jollibee balloons running out of air.
McDonald's only teased seven-piece french fries, a nod to the Korean septet.
The BTS meal starts rolling out in May and will be in the Philippines by June 18, McDonald's said. It will be among the last countries to offer the limited edition co-branding.
