Minors are forbidden from physically attending the traditional 'Simbang Gabi' or Misa de Gallo in churches in Metro Manila, the MMDA said Thursday.

Those age 17 and below cannot join the traditional dawn masses and are prohibited from going to shopping malls too, said MMDA general manager Jojo Garcia.

"Yes, definitely bawal din po sa Simbang Gabi [ang minors]," Garcia said in an online press briefing.

Catholic bishops earlier said Simbang Gabi Masses can start as early as 6 p.m. so that churches can properly implement physical distancing measures.
