More Metro Manila Folk Could Be Allowed Outdoors, Says Mayor

Those 18 to 65 could be allowed to run errands.

More people in Metro Manila could be allowed to leave their homes during the quarantine, one of the region's mayors said Monday as seven-month-long restrictions continue to loosen. The curfew stays.

The proposal under study is to expand the age bracket of those who can leave their homes to aged 18 to 65 from the current 21 to 60, said Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez who heads the Metro Manila Council.

The 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew will be retainedOlivarez told TeleRadyo. The capital region that is home to some 12 million people is under the second lowest quarantine, GCQ, until Oct. 31.

The age restriction applies to those who are running errands such as grocery and pharmacy runs. There are also so-called authorized persons outside of residence or APOR who work on indusrtries that are allowed during the quarantine.
