Philippines on Wednesday night received a shipment of 813,150 doses of the Pfizer vaccine as the country battles the more transmissible Delta variant during lockdown.

Of these doses, 102,960 shots were delivered to Cebu City at around 6:35 p.m., and another 102,960 doses will be shipped to Davao City on Thursday, according the National Task Force.

The remaining doses were allotted for the capital region and other high-risk areas in the country reporting high cases of COVID-19.

The country has procured 1,751,490 shots of the Pfizer vaccines, while 2,472,210 were donated by the COVAX facility.

More Pfizer vaccines are yet to arrive in the Philippines as the country signed a supply agreement for 40 million shots last June 20.
