The MRT control center recently got an upgrade, photos from management showed, giving its operators a clearer view of operations.
"Mas malawak, maaliwalas, at well-equipped na ng latest structural upgrades ang wholly-refurbished Control Center ng MRT-3, na responsable sa maayos na train traffic ng rail line," the Department of Transportation said.
Equipped with 16 flat-screen TV monitors, the MRT control center enables staff and authorities to monitor all activities in all trains of the line, from its placement, run, and stop, until it returns to the depot after operations.
High-resolution footage from the CCTV units installed in MRT stations can also be viewed from the control room.
Proper lighting and a fresh coat of paint finish off the newly renovated office, which is part of the MRT's overall rehabilitation project.
