MRT Offers Free Rides on Rizal Day Holiday

The MRT will offer free rides in select times on Dec. 30 as the country commemorates Rizal Day, management said Tuesday.

Commuters can ride MRT-3 trains for free this Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"Ang libreng sakay ay bilang pakikiisa ng pamunuan ng MRT-3 sa paggunita at pag-alala ng buong bansa sa kabayanihan ni Gat Jose Rizal," the management said in an advisory.

The first train from North Avenue station will leave at 4:40 a.m., while the first train from Taft Avenue station will leave at 5:26 a.m. The last train will leave the North Avenue station at 9:30 p.m. and Taft Avenue station at 10:16 p.m.

The MRT management reminded passengers to strictly follow COVID-19 health and safety protocols while riding the train. Wearing of face masks is also mandatory while inside the train while face shields are voluntary.
