LOOK: MRT-3 Ferries More Passengers As Transport Restrictions Ease

Capacity has been bumped up to 30%.

More passengers were allowed to ride the MRT-3 on Monday as looser quarantine rules allowed for higher capacity in mass transport seven months into lockdown.

Passenger capacity was doubled to 30%. From 51 passengers per train car and 153 total passengers per train set, the MRT-3 is now permitted to carry 124 passengers per train car or 372 passengers per train set.

Train marshals will accompany passengers during every ride to ensure that safety protocols—such as wearing face masks and face shields, temperature scans, and a one-seat-apart distance—are observed.

The upgraded 7 Commandments for Commuters are being strictly implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19 even as more passengers flood in daily.
